Who

Adam Lee Casey is an extremely versatile designer, architect, professor of architecture, and visual communicator. He has experience in commercial towers,  residential design, institutional building, as well as many years in digital and graphic communications.  Currently, Adam is the principal of Mada Plus Design, Creative Founder of Anecdote NYC, and Associate Architect for Storyn Studio for Architecture.  Each studio reflects Adam’s passion for design on multiple scales.  

Adam graduated first in his class at the UOF School of Architecture and Vicenza Institute of Architecture. He was the sole winner of both ‘Design Excellence’ and ‘Academic Excellence’ awards for his school. He immediately moved to Hong Kong to work as a junior architect at the world-renowned OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) and RAD (Research Architecture Design). He then worked at SOM (Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill) in New York City for three years. In New York Adam was apart of designing institutional buildings as well as residential units. After New York he moved to Cape Town, South Africa to be a professor of architecture of a masters studio at The University of Cape Town. While in Cape Town, he also worked as a lead designer and project manager with MDL (Makeka Design Lab).  He quickly set up his own practice, Mada Plus Design, focusing on small scale residential projects as well as radical modernist commercial and social projects. Today Adam is based equally in New York, New York and Bali, Indonesia. He is currently immersed in resort and villa design in Bali and interior design and furniture design in New York.

Who

Everald Colas is an award-winning architect, educator, and storyteller with design experience in commercial, aviation, multifamily, and institutional buildings. He has led a variety of internationally acclaimed projects during his time as a practitioner. Currently, Everald is the owner of Storyn Studio for Architecture. Storyn, as a practice, uniquely balances its work at both the local scale and the international scale, providing precise research of client’s ethos and project parameters to create unique spaces that tell a project’s sole story. As a designer, Everald specializes in projects that require a sensitive approach to integrating mixed-use buildings in a historical context. He is skilled in guiding clients through the process of finding their project’s identity within numerous constraints, helping to ensure that complex projects are distilled to their design essence. He is motivated to find solutions for designing equitable spaces for the voiceless and believes that design is a tool for social change. Before starting Storyn, Everald was the lead WJA Architect for the James Museum of Western + Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg, FL. Prior to joining WJA, Everald was a senior architect for Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and co-lead the mixed-use E126 Gotham Residential project in New York City. 

Everald holds both a Master of Architecture degree and a Master of Science in Architectural Pedagogy degree from The University of Florida. He has been a guest critic at Columbia University, Pratt Institute, University of Pennsylvania, University of Florida, Marywood University, University of South Florida and the University of Cincinnati. 

Richie Gelles

Who

The Founder and Creative Director of Playhou.se, Richie is focused on developing and exploring new means of spatial animation and representation. He graduated with a Master of Architecture from Rice University and received the Darden Award for his thesis project ‘¡Super NAFTA Land!’ which visualized urban mega-structures on the US-Mexico border. Prior to founding Playhou.se Richie taught ‘Kino-Eye: Spatial Filmmaking,’ his design course at the University of Pennsylvania, which explored the interdisciplinary intersection between the fields of filmmaking, architecture, and animation. He also teaches animation workshops for design schools around the world including Harvard GSD, Syracuse University and Chinese University of Hong Kong.

While Creative Director of Playhou.se he has worked with many globally influential architects and designers including OMA, BIG, Arup, James Corner Field Operations, Urbanus, Leong Leong, Perkins + Will, Adept and MVRDV and his work has been exhibited in design exhibitions and publications including the Sao Paolo Biennale, HKSZ Bi-City Biennale of UrbanismArchitecture, Audi Urban Futures Initiative, Disposable Film Festival, Siggraph Computer Animation Festival, Future Arquitecturas, Evolo, and AD.
